A Happy New Year

2017

Sims Luxury Builders has seen exciting evolution in 2016, from refining our team to topping out our first high-rise condo project. We are looking forward to the continued progress 2017 has in store for us.

This year will bring:

  • Completion of our largest project in three decades: Riva at the Park (10 stories + rooftop terrace, 29 units, nearly 100,000 SF of living area)
  • Completions of 4 single family homes (ranging in size 10,000-36,000 SF and in style from English Tudor to Classic Mediterranean)
  • Bringing to market our modern Laguna townhomes in the walkable community of Lake Pointe.
  • Ground breaking on at least 3 new single family homes in Sugar Land and Tanglewood
  • Continual expansion of our team’s depth of knowledge through continuing education, software training, National Custom Builders Council meetings, new materials and methods, research of national industry leaders, as well as personal reflection and goal setting.

Sims Luxury Builders Holiday Lunch

We certainly know how to work hard. So much so that we oftentimes forget to slow down and spend some time enjoying each other outside of the office. Last week, we finally took a break to celebrate the holidays together with a wonderful team lunch at Brennan’s restaurant. Here’s to a wonderful Christmas and an exciting 2017!

Unfortunately we were missing two of our team members last week. Guess we’ll just have to plan a New Year’s celebration lunch, too!

All of us here at Sims Luxury Builders wish you the very best this holiday season and always.

2016 NCBC Meeting: San Diego, CA

As most of you  know, Sims Luxury Builders is a member of the National Custom Builders Council, an invitation-only organization comprised of 20 high-end custom builders from non-competing markets around the country. Twice a year, NCBC members meet for 4 days of meetings, distinguished speakers and jobsite visits to share their experience and best practices.

Having been a member of this group since its inception in 1998, Sims Luxury Builders has benefited from years of continuing education regarding effective industry technology and construction methods.  We return from each meeting inspired and focused on customizing and incorporating what we learned into our everyday business practices.

This year’s meeting was hosted by new NCBC member Ryan Hill of Hill Construction Company in San Diego, CA. Once again, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Construction Managers of the member companies were invited to attend.  Our president, Chris Sims, along with SLB construction manager Michael Sims and project manager Joseph Hyslop traveled to sunny San Diego to participate. With both an architectural and construction background, Joseph was even asked to present to the group on bridging the gap between architects and builders to increase effectiveness and improve client experience.

As always, we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn from some of the top custom builders in the nation. We know that in life and in business we have two choices: strive for continual self-improvement or become complacent and fall behind. We happily choose the former.

Riva Top-Out Celebration

Last Monday evening, our team celebrated with all of our Riva at the Park homeowners at a topping-out party. Our 10 story condo mid-rise building reached its highest point in construction earlier this month, when the beams were placed for our rooftop terrace summer kitchen. We celebrated with delicious food, a champagne toast, and enjoyed the beautiful sunset views from the rooftop. During the party, homeowners were able to tour their future homes, which are nearly all framed at this point in construction. Good times were had by all.

A special thanks to all of our homeowners, our Jordan Foster Construction team, our architect Krystyn Haecker with Mirador Group, our Sudhoff sales team, Piatto catering, as well as our Sims Luxury Builders team members for making this a memorable night.

UPDATE: Laguna in Lake Pointe

Laguna Exterior Rendering 1 (1)

Laguna, our community of nine luxury townhomes in Lake Pointe, is nearing completion. We thought we’d take a look back at how construction has progressed over the last year. Enjoy!

We are now in the phase of the project where everyone can finally see what we have been envisioning all of this time.  Each home will be complete with high-end finishes including custom Madeval kitchen cabinetry, Bosch appliances, wide plank hardwood flooring, glass and steel handrails, linear fireplaces with marble surrounds, 8″ solid core interior doors, just to name a few. For a complete list of structural as well as interior features, click here.

Below are floor plan images of the townhomes that are still available at this time.

Welcome to Our New Team Members

We are thrilled to welcome the newest additions to our Sims Luxury Builders team, Erica Morales and Shelby Damiani.

Version 2

As our new office administrator and receptionist, Erica is the first voice people hear and first smile they see when they call or visit our office. She has quickly become an integral part of our team, and we are lucky to have her. Erica grew up in Stafford, TX not far from our Sugar Land headquarters. She and her husband Mike have been married for 10 years, and enjoy their weekly dancing date nights as well as family trips with their daughter and son.

Version 2

After studying corporate communications at The University of Texas at Austin, Shelby worked in the fine jewelry industry for nine years before joining our team as the Client Liaison for our luxury multi-family projects. While facilitating and organizing selections for each of our high-end condo homeowners, she maintains strong client, subcontractor, and vendor relationships with her positive and professional demeanor. Shelby is also an accredited Gemologist who enjoys designing jewelry, traveling with her husband, and volunteering with the Junior League and Houston Rodeo.
